The Supreme Court bench of Justice Vikram Nath & Justice Sandeep Mehta has taken suo moto cognizance of the absence of functional CCTV cameras in the police stations across the nation.
Such suo moto cognizance stems from a Dainik Bhaskar Report which highlighted 11 custodial deaths that had occurred in the past 7-8 months.
