The decision, made on 29th March, 2025, awaits the conclusion of an in-house inquiry into Justice Varma and the unaccounted cash discovered at his residence on 14th March, 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p style=\"text-align:center\"><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:14.7px\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;\"><span style=\"font-size:14.67px\">The HCBA, which had been boycotting judicial work in protest, will resume normal court proceedings from 1st April, 2025. Further actions will depend on the findings of the three-judge inquiry committee.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size:14.67px\">The controversy began when firefighters discovered unaccounted cash while responding to a fire at Justice Varma&#39;s home. The incident led to calls for his impeachment.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p style=\"margin-left:0px; margin-right:0px\"><span style=\"font-size:14.7px\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;\"><span style=\"font-size:14.67px\">On March 21, Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna ordered an in-house inquiry, appointing three High Court judges to investigate. Despite opposition, the Supreme Court Collegium transferred Justice Varma to the Allahabad High Court, leading the HCBA to announce an indefinite strike.
