In a landmark achievement for gender representation in the legal field, the Pala Bar Association in Kerala has elected an all-female executive committee, filling all 15 positions with women. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n

This milestone surpasses the Supreme Court's directive mandating one-third female representation in bar associations. The directive, initially applied to the Supreme Court Bar Association, has since been extended to associations in Delhi, Karnataka, and other parts of the country.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n

The all-women panel elected by the Pala Bar Association not only meets but significantly exceeds the mandated quota, setting a powerful precedent for gender-inclusive leadership within the legal community. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n

Advocate Usha Menon was elected as the new president, securing a decisive victory with 163 votes against her opponent Advocate Josekutty Kuzhithottam, who received 70 votes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n
