Nagaresh of Kerala High Court presiding over the matter.. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has expressed its willingness to certify the film, <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>contingent upon the producers altering the character&#39;s name from &quot;Janaki&quot; to &quot;V. Janaki&quot; in the subtitle. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>The film, which stars Suresh Gopi, a BJP politician and Union Minister,<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"> is on track to be released following the adjustments mandated by the certification board.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Facts:<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">During the proceedings, a counsel representing the CBFC, highlighted that the name <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>&quot;Janaki&quot; refers to Janaki Vidhyadharan, the protagonist of the film.<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"> In light of the religious implications associated with the name &quot;Janaki&quot; within the Hindu community, the producers have also agreed to<\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong> mute the character&#39;s name in specific scenes, <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">particularly the one involving a rape survivor. The CBFC had initially suggested a much larger number of cuts, but both parties settled on just two modifications to expedite the certification process.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Justice N. Nagaresh noted that the hearing would continue so that the counsels could consult with the production team regarding the proposed changes. Prior to the final orders, <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>the Court is scheduled to view the film, <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">and arrangements have been made for a screening.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Cosmos Entertainment, the production company behind the film, had previously taken legal action against the CBFC&#39;s delay in certification. This issue became particularly urgent as the <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>film&#39;s screening was intended for June 27<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><strong>Following the Court&#39;s interim order, the CBFC is obliged to issue the certification within three days of receiving the edited version.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">The matter is set to be revisited next week for compliance.<\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <hr \/>\n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\">Case Title: M\/s Cosmos Entertainments v.
