Sathe will now act as the official legal representative of the state in all judicial matters. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the development on X, noting that the Cabinet accepted Birendra Saraf&#39;s resignation earlier today and praised his dedicated service over more than three years. &quot;At the same time, the State Cabinet approved the appointment of Milind Sathe as the new Advocate General of the state,&quot; Fadnavis&#39; tweet stated.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">This appointment follows the resignation of the previous Advocate General, Dr. Birendra Saraf, who stepped down in September 2025, citing personal reasons. Although Saraf had offered to continue serving until a replacement was arranged, the government moved forward with Sathe&rsquo;s appointment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Dr. Milind Sathe began his legal career in 1982 and was designated as a senior advocate by the Bombay High Court in 2005, after more than two decades of practice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Throughout his career, he has taken on a wide range of significant cases, including public interest litigations and legal aid matters, and has also served as amicus curiae. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Beyond his legal practice, Sathe has acted as senior counsel for the State of Maharashtra, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, various other municipal bodies, and public sector entities.
