Sri Kumara Swamy Silica Mines, noting that the land was earlier classified as &lsquo;Forest reserve Poramboke&rsquo;.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">The Division Bench of <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><strong>Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"> and J<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><strong>ustice Ravi Cheemalapati<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">, strongly questioned how the same area, which was declared a reserved forest, could have been <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><strong>subsequently reclassified<\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"> and allocated by the Mines Department as &lsquo;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><strong>Jungle Poramboke land&rsquo;.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">In reply to the questions posed in the Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the court ordered, &ldquo;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><em>Committee be constituted under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, comprising the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and the Principal Secretary of Revenue Department, who shall examine the issue and submit a report to this Court. In case the Committee finds that the conversion was only with a view to facilitate the allotment of mining rights in favour of respondent No.11, the same be also specifically stated in the report.
