The strength of the Supreme Court judges was increased to 38 recently. Presently, the&nbsp; Supreme Court is functioning with 32 judges.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\"><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Two additional vacancies are expected shortly with the retirements of Justice JK Maheshwari and Justice Pankaj Mithal in June.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">The names recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium are as follows:&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \n \n \n <ul>\n \n <li><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Justice Sheel Nagu<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n \n <li><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Justice Shree Chandrashekhar<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n \n <li><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n \n <li><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Justice Arun Palli<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n \n <li><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">Senior Advocate V Mohana.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n \n <\/ul>\n \n \n \n <p><span style=\"font-size:16px\"><span style=\"font-family:Georgia,serif\">The appointment of Sr. Adv V Mohana will add to the women&#39;s representation in the Supreme Court. The Court presently has only one woman judge, Justice BV Nagarathna.
